Space Face Makeup Look

Hey everyone,

Again, this is a bit of a random post. I did another half-face crazy makeup look. I simply used a black face pencil blended into my skin and added various pigments and sparkly eyeshadows. I didn't really take note of what I was using, but it was mainly just an experimental mess I thought I'd share with you!
I tried to add light and shadows to different areas of my face using various colours and finishes.
To create the highlight I used a silver glitter in a light cream base.
The stars come from NYX "Milk" Jumbo Eye Pencil and I dotted them on with a liner brush. If I were to ever re-create this look I would try and find a silver liquid liner and create finer dots.
I used metallic eyeliners and cream eyeshadow to really hold the powder shadows into place and to help change the colours a bit.
 Close up
And another close up!

Overall, I really had a lot of fun creating this look. It wasn't the easiest to remove but I think it turned out great! It's amazing what you can do with products you may have laying around in your collection!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

A Product Worth Repurchasing: The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum-in-Oil

Hey everyone,

Sorry about the late post- scheduling/technical issues!!

Today I'm raving about The Body Shops Vitamin E Serum-in-Oil. It's a hybrid between a serum and an oil and is designed to give overnight hydration to dry skin. I apply it after I cleanse and tone, and after applied I put on some moisturizer or night cream.
Here's the old and the new! This product is one I use almost daily- if not 4/5 times every week. Incredibly the product has lasted me for almost a year!
The key to this serum is that less is more. The applicator can make this difficult and it's almost easier to use it when it's running out.
I find the best way to apply this is to dispense a smal drop on my forehead and each of my cheeks and then patting it in with my clean, dry hands. I know lots of people apply it right into their hands and then apply it but I find you waste less product by just applying it to your face.

Anyway I hope it's clear that I really love this product. I find it incredibly moisturizing and really saves my skin in the cold winter months!

Have a great day!

Mani Monday #4

Hey everyone,

Today I'm writing about another Essie nail polish, in one of my favourite shades "Wicked". It's a beautiful, deep blackened red which can best be described as the colour of a black cherry. The formula is excellent, glossy and pigmented while being quite thin and easily applied.
I think it's a really perfect deep shade that's incredibly wearable. I'm a lover of deep nail polishes and this one is a perfect mix of a black and a brown/burgundy red. (Eg. Essie's "Licorice" and "Shearling Darling")

Overall, I think this shade is wearable and dramatic, and a shade that can be worn with anything. Also I feel it's important to note that it looks great layered with glitter!!

Thanks for reading this weeks Mani Monday. Have a great week!

Avène Eau Thermale Spring Water Spray

Hey everyone,

Today I'm reviewing the Avène Eau Thermale Spring Water spray. It's a bit of a cult favourite because of its soothing properties and redness reliving abilities. I'm a bit skeptical when it comes to products like this- I mean essentially it's water in a can. In fact, I've already butcherd the Caudalie spray which I felt did nothing for me other than get my face wet. This Avène product is a lot more affordable and seems to be better for sensitive skin. I hope you enjoy this post!
It claims to be soothing and softening, and I definitely notice it soothing. It's a great pick me up for during your skincare regime, if you're sunburnt, travelling long distances, or just to freshen up makeup.
The aerosol can creates quite a fine spray, and I think you use less because it spreads itself out much better on your face. The spray on the Caudalie elixir takes much more to get onto your face, and doesn't mist as nicely as this one.
While I do really like this product, I wouldn't say it's life changing or a completely necessary step in your skin care routine. I like it to refresh my skin and rehydrate it, but I'm not sure I'll run out to repurchase it immediately when I'm finished.

I hope this review was helpful!

Bioderma Atoderm Lèvres "Stick Hydratant" Review

Hey everyone,

Today is a review I've been meaning to do for ages, but since I first purchased this product I've used it so much that it sort of slipped my mind as a new product. I bought the Bioderma Lipbalm for the first time about 6 months ago, and it hasn't left my bedside table since. It's a clear balm that isn't too thick of greasy. It's a thinner consistency than a Chapstick, but lingers on the lips for much longer. I can put it on at nighttime and wake up with it on my lips in the morning. This stuff is so great that I now have one by my vanity, in my bathroom (with all my skincare goodies) and again in my purse for on-the-go application. It's definitely a must have for me!!
Here's proof of my love for this product. The one on the left was the original, and although I can't roll it up anymore it's still going strong and I'm determined to use all of it. Beside it is the brand new addition- and you can see that it is a generous amount of product, 4g.
It's a very simple balm with simple packaging. It's designed for damages and dehydrated lips and it does a superb job of fixing them. While it may look standard from the outside, the product itself is amazing.
Overall, I can't recommend this lipbalm enough. It might seem strange that I'm dedicating an entire post of a lipbalm, but if I use it this often and love it this much it must be shared!!

I hope you enjoyed this post,

GOSH Intense Lip Colour Review

Hey everyone,

Today I'm reviewing the GOSH Cosmetics Intense Lip Colour. It applies like a thick gloss/lip cream and then settles down to feel like a creamy lipstick. It stains the lips and while it isn't the most comfortable product to wear, the colour is incredibly pigmented and it stick around for quite a long time.
The colour is more of an orange red than a blue toned red, so while it's not super flattering on my skin tone, someone with more yellow/olive undertones would look great in a shade like this.
The packaging comes with a mirror on the side which is quite handy for a red lipgloss. It makes re-applying much easier and is just downright handy.
The applicator is pretty average, but has quite a precise top which is perfect when applying a colour so pigmented. It allows you to better outline areas like your cupids bow, and also the corners of your mouth.
One thing that sort of puzzled me was the light in the cap o the lipgloss. It's a very blue light which means applying the colour is kind of weird and it's very bright. To the point where you squint to apply it. I won't be using it, but it's handy if you need a flashlight.
Excuse my horrific looking skin, this was after a particularly cold day and makeup removal. You can see that the lipcream does leave a nice glossy finish and it is incredible pigmented.

I hope you enjoyed this review! Thanks for reading!

Mani Monday #3

Hey everyone,

Today's Mani Monday features another Essie shade, this time a deep blue called "Go Overboard". It had quite a thick formula which I was surprised by. Despite being a brand new polish which was unopened, it was as though it had been opened and dried out a little bit. This meant it was hard to apply, but it is a very opaque colour so I didn't really need two coats. The top coat I used thinned it out a little bit so keep that in mind if you buy this shade.
The shade is a very deep blue with green undertones. It's almost a very dark teal shade. It's quite flattering for a blue, and makes it quite a bit more wearable.

It looks a bit more green in light and darker when it's darker... Which makes a lot of sense really.
I hope you enjoyed this Mani Monday! Have a good week!!

Half Skeleton Makeup Look

Hey guys,

Today's post is a pretty relaxed one, just showing a little look I created when I should have been organizing my makeup. I've got a bit of a new setup for my makeup storage so while I was supposed to be putting everything away I got distracted and created this instead, using two products: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Milk" and The All Natural Face Diva Stix Black Kohl. I hope you enjoy!
With a bit of a smile..
Less of a smile...
And the complete look!

Sorry this isn't more professional but it's just a little one I thought I'd share.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette Review

Hey everyone!

Today I'm writing a review on the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette. It comes with three shades, Luminous Flush, Incandescent Electra and Mood Exposure. I hope you enjoy this review!!
The packaging is really nice. It's very well made and is surprisingly small!
The back of the packaging has the names of all three blushes.
Inside it's totally beautiful. It has three unique shades and a huge mirror which is perfect for travelling.
This shade is Luminous Flush is a really pretty rosy shade with a very slight highlight. It's not too warm toned or cool toned and suits lots of makeup looks.
The second shade is Incandescent Electra, the most shimmery shade in the palette. It's a very pale coral which is surprisingly wearable and would look amazing in the summer months.
The third and final shade is Mood Exposure, a neutral tan shade with a mauve undertone. It's the most subtle of the shades and could almost double as a bronzer on pale skin tones.
Here are swatches before blending. You can see how pigmented and buttery they are.
Once blended they create a really nice natural finish. I think this palette is incredible versatile and perfect for travelling. All of the shades work with my pale skin, and I think they'd work well with many more skin tones. They also look great with all makeup looks, because firstly you have three options, and also they are very wearable shades.

Unfortunately this palette is limited edition, but two of the three shades are available at Sephora and on Hourglass' website.

I hope you enjoyed this review!

Mani Monday #2

Hey everyone,

Today I'm writing about another Essie nail polish named "Mochacino". It's a very pretty grey/brown with a little bit of shimmer! Enjoy!

You can see that it has quite a glossy finish (no top coat!) and while it looks quite plain it can look really pretty in nice lighting!
I think it's a more subtle holiday shade because it's still a winery shade but has that glitter added to it. I think it looks lovely with any look and is quite a basic colour while also being quite unique!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Bliss "Lemony Trinkets" Lemon and Sage Bath Duo

Hey everyone,

Today I'm writing a quick review on a bath set I received as part of a secret Santa present from my best friend Barb. It's by Bliss- a brand I have heard lots of good things about but have never tried before. Enjoy!

The scent is lemon and sage, a really refreshing scent, perfect for morning showers!
It comes with a 30ml bottle of shower gel and a 30ml tube of body butter. They are perfect for travelling and I found that using both together really helped the scent to linger on the skin.
I had to add this in because I was a bit confused: "pour a bit into the bath for a more stimulating soak" followed by FOR ADULT USE ONLY.
The shower gel has a flip down cap as opposed to a screw top so it makes it much safer to travel with.
The body butter comes in a nice mini tube that's quite skinny- again making it perfect to travel with or to throw in your purse and use as a hand cream.
The lotion is really thick but isn't greasy at all. It absorbs quickly and smells incredible!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading!!

The Body Shop's "Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask" Review

Hey everyone,

Today I'm reviewing a new purchase, the Body Shops "Ionic Clay Mask" from their Seaweed range. It's a clay mask which dries down, helping to clear pores and deep clean your skin while also help dry out breakouts. I was looking for a clay mask to hopefully replace my Soap and Glory "The Fab Pore". While the S&G mask is slightly less drying and leaves your skin softer, the Body Shops mask is a bit more cleansing and your skin feels a deeper cleanse. They both really help with blemishes, I feel as though they work wonders on skin if used once or twice weekly, but be sure to keep your skin incredible hydrated when you remove the mask.
It comes in a tub with 100ml. I think it will last a very long time. I use about a grape sized amount for my entire face.
The consistency is a bit strange. If you've ever worked with clay and slip in an art class you'll understand, but it's a bit unique for a clay mask. I feel as though it really has the potential to dry out so make sure you keep the lid tightly screwed on.
At first application all I noticed was the smell. If you like the scent of seaweed, this won't be an issue. It's bearable, but certainly not my favourite smell. Soap and Glory wins for scent- but that's entirely personal preference.
The mask dries quite quickly. The Soap and Glory mask takes a lot longer to dry, and I feel as though I can't wait for it to dry completely. This mask dries very quickly, and it's very obvious when to remove it. It feels very tight on the skin and a good way to test is to try smiling- it should be difficult!
Here's the mask right before removal. It dried entirely and what was pretty neat (and gross) was that you could see where the mask had drawn out dirt from your pores. It's oddly satisfying and quite noticeable once it has been washed off.

Overall, I think this mask is a great choice for people who suffer from breakouts or an uneven skin surface. It really provided me with a deep clean and I saw noticeable and immediate results around my nose and cheeks. I definitely recommend following up with an oil or heavy moisturizer to help retain some moisture- otherwise this mask would be incredibly drying.

I hope you enjoyed this review! Thanks for reading!
