Olay Quench Plus Touch of Sun Review

Hey everyone!

Today I'm writing about a self-tanning lotion, Olay's "Quench Plus Touch of Sun". It comes in a tube and cost about $8.00 for 200ml. I bought the formula for light/medium skin tones, as I am quite fair. It's described to "give skin a sun-kissed glow" which is gradual and buildable from day to day.
The packaging is nice, I wouldn't say it's anything special, but I have no complaints.

It claims to:
- Immediately, this non-greasy body lotion will provide a burst of moisture that will last for 24 hours, like your regular Olay body lotion.
- In a few days, it will gradually enhance your skin's tone and colour without streaks.
- With regular use, it will give you soft, moisturized skin and maintain a natural and gentle glow all year round.
There's a slight guide on the back of the tube that explains the gradual colour, but it would vary from one person to the next regarding the actual colouring you'd get.
The formula is actually really nice. It's a lightweight lotion that absorbs really quickly and doesn't have that orange/brown colour to it.
PROS:
- Really lightweight formula
- No colour to it (no terrifying application of brown liquid to your skin)
- Absorbs really quickly so you can apply it before getting dressed
- Smells amazing! Much better than most self-tanning products
- Packaging is convenient and clean, perfect to take with you if you travel and easy to store
- Colour is reasonably natural for a fake tan, doesn't come up too orange
- Is definitely buildable, but if you miss a day it's no big deal because the colour lasts

CONS:
- Pale yellow colour doesn't show where you've applied so you could miss a spot if you aren't careful
- Skin needs to be moisturized in between uses of the tanning lotion, because you can get flakiness from when the tan wears off (around 4-5 days)
- Does stain your hands if you don't wash them after application immediately (although they do warn of this on the packaging!)

Overall I'm a really big fan of this product. The sun is really harmful to your skin so if you want to add some colour coming into the summer months I really recommend doing it in a way that's beneficial to your skin, such as in a moisturizer. It's definitely better than baking under UV lights or splurging on a spray tan, and it's much more reliable than waiting for a sunny day! I will continue to use this product and would repurchase if I don't find something better beforehand!
