Vacation Beauty Bag

Hey everyone,

This is probably the most exciting of all my travel related posts- the makeup I'm bringing! I hope you enjoy!
For my base I've brought two foundations, one with fuller coverage, and one BB cream. I figure I can mix the Nars and the Maybelline to get my desired coverage! Plus, the BB cream has an SPF!
Concealer is where it gets a bit crazy. I have four. I'm bringing two Nars Radiant Creamy Concealers in Chantilly and Vanilla. I'm also bringing the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, and a MAC Studio Finish which covers a mark on my leg really well.
I'm bringing two powders, the e.l.f HD Undereye Setting Powder, and the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder.
I have two mini primers, Benefit's Porefessional for my face, and Bare Minerals Prime Time for my eyes.
I'm bringing my Ambient Lighting Blush Palette from Hourglass because it provides options, and a Lancome highlight with a pink-toned shimmer which I think will look nice regardless of if I tan/burn or not.
For bronzing and contouring, I'm bringing Benefit's Hoola and my Smashbox Contour Stick.
I'm bringing two small eyeshadow palettes, one by Bobbi Brown, and one by Nars.
For brows I have my Anastasia Brow Wiz and my L'Oreal Brow Plumper. I'm also bringing a Nars pencil sharpener for some lip products.
I decided to bring Benefit's Roller Lash and L'Oreal's Super Slim liner.
And lip products... this is where I may have gone slightly overboard. I have MAC's Whirl lip liner, which looks great alone or layered, YSL Volupte Tint in Oil for a natural, glossy lip, Nars Velvet Matte Lip Crayon in Cruella for a red lip, and Bite Beauty's Rhubarb, one of my favourite lip colours of all time!

I apologize if this post is rushed or doesn't have much detail! I've tried to get these posts all written up before I leave, and I'm leaving in just a few hours! I hope you enjoyed the post!

Miscellaneous Travel Essentials

Hey everyone,

Here are some miscellaneous travel essentials for my three week jaunt to Europe. Is jaunt a word, or the right word? I will find out when I'm older and wiser and go back to cringe at old blog posts. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this post!
A quick overview!
First off- toothbrush and a toothbrush case. Very handy for long trips and travelling between countries and cities, no doubt my toothbrush will be wet and then I'll have to pack it up before leaving for a new destination.
Other oral care essentials. Toothpaste, a 50ml tube that should just about be finished after 3 weeks. Some floss, because even though I'm travelling, I still have to floss. Ugh. And mouthwash, a tiny bottle which I'm mainly going to use to feel really refreshed and get that clean feelin', I doubt this will actually last me 3 weeks.
Kleenexes and Q-Tips. Totally essential for any makeup mishaps! Also great for colds and waxy ears.
A razor, so I don't return looking like a mammoth.
Two Biore Pore Strips. Not my favourite product in the world, but since I'll be travelling all over the place I think I might need a deeper clean at some point. Between planes, trains and cars I think a pore strip might just help to keep my nose from looking too grimy/blackheady.
Here's how everything looks all packaged up and ready to go!

My Bath and Body Travel Essentials

Hey everyone,

Today I'm sharing the bath and body products I'm bringing on my trip to Europe. Enjoy!
Here's a quick overview on what I'm packing- and trying my best not to overpack!
First up is a bit boring- two washcloths and a Ziplock bag. I know most places we're staying provide these, but just in case I wanted to bring a couple. Most likely these will be used by myself and no doubt my boyfriend will steal one too. The Ziplock bag is incase they are still damp or wet when we travel from one place to another.
The shampoo and conditioner is not one I'd typically go for. Personally, I like to use more natural, sulphate free products on my hair, but they leave it tangly and somewhat hard to manage. Since I'll have less time to get all dolled up, I decided to go for a high-school classic, and products I know I like and that work. I'm taking the Herbal Essences 'Moroccan My Shine', which smells delish and will keep my hair brushable. They're also quite thin, so they pack easily.
A mini of a product I know I love, is the Soap and Glory "Scrub of your life", a body exfoliator. I know it does the job and although I wouldn't pack it for a shorter trip, in a span of 3 weeks I might just want a deeper clean feeling.
The body wash I'm bringing matches the perfume I'll be wearing, Vera Wang Princess. The scent is really sweet but not overpowering, and the body wash is really nice and silky, leaving my skin feeling clean and soft.
To make my skin softer, however, I'm bringing the matching body lotion which has a quick-absorbing finish and think texture, so it's perfect for on-the-go.
Of course deodorant is an essential, I like Dove products because they are moisturizing as well. This has a fresh scent and claims to work for 48 hours, so hopefully it works out!
For fragrance, I have two scents. The first is Vera Wang 'Princess' in a Travalo travel spray, and for evenings I'm bringing the Elizabeth and James 'Nirvana Black', a new favourite of mine!
Here's how everything is going to be packaged up.
Although it's all hidden underneath the shampoo and conditioner!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

My In-Flight Beauty Essentials

Hey everyone,

Today I'm going to show you all of the products I take with me in my carry-on bag when flying.
I have named this post my "In-Flight Beauty Essentials", but I'm sure you'll quickly realize there is a lack of beauty.
I fit everything into a really small makeup bag which has a wipeable coating. It's not fabric, so when it's tossed around and pulled out on planes, trains and cars it won't get too filthy.
To begin I have a travel size pack of Simple cleansing wipes. I'm not a fan of cleansing wipes generally, but I think it will make a nice refresher on long-haul flights. I'm flying Toronto-Reykjavik, Reykjavik-Paris, taking a train from Paris-London, several trains in England, and then flying from London-Toronto... needless to say at some point during the hours of travelling I'm going to feel grubby and want to freshen up.
Next up is a cooling roller-ball eye gel by Origins. It's called "No Puffery"- and for good reason. It will help moisturize under my eyes and keep them cool and hopefully relieve my tired eyes. It's a tiny size, and something I will use throughout my trip, even when I'm not travelling.
The moisturizer I'm taking on the flight is the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer. It's a no-fuss, clean feeling product which has no scent and isn't offensive in small spaces. I think I will use this throughout the flight to keep my skin hydrated- planes are notorious for drying out skin and making your skin look and feel dull upon arrival. Hopefully this will combat the dullness!
A lip balm is absolutely essential on a flight of any length. Because airplanes are so drying, this is a real must-have for me. Again, I will also have this throughout the duration of my trip to keep my lips happy and hydrated!
A small anti-bacterial hand gel is pretty important when I'm travelling. I'm not a huge germaphobe, but when I'm stepping on and off of flights, subways and trains I like to have this stuff handy. It smells nice and isn't too overpowering, and can be used for all sorts when you can't wash your hands.
Next up is to deal with the dryness of an anti-bacterial hand gel. If I'm already in a dry place, using alcohol based products is less than ideal, so I'm bringing the Soap and Glory Hand Food, a super moisturizing hand cream which I intend to use on my hands and elbows.
I'm also bringing a tiny nail file- it's not essential, but you never know when you might need it!
I've made sure everything fits in to a Ziplock bag to get through security quickly and efficiently. I'm going to package everything up to make sure it fits in the standard carry-on limits, and then put it into the bag.
Now I'm all set for the flight!
Other essentials of mine include my iPod and headphones, a book, some gum and of course, lots and lots of snacks!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Travalo Review and How-To

Hey everyone,

Today I'm writing about one of my travel essentials and favourite purchases. It's the Travalo, a mini atomizer that transfers your fragrance into a handy travel size, eliminating the need to carry a glass bottle on a trip with you. If all has gone to plan, I should currently be in Reykjavik, Iceland. If I'm not there, I'm probably not very happy right now. But let's try to stay positive!
I'm taking Vera Wang's "Princess", one of my all time favourite everyday scents. It's sweet, but not too sweet, and it just reminds me of a lot of good times, I think I've worn this perfume for about 7 or 8 years.
First: Remove the little spray cap on top of your perfume.
Second: Take out your Travalo. This is a fairly easy step. You don't even need to remove the cap.
Third: At the bottom of the Travalo is a little sealed plastic bottom. But, it connects to the spray tube of your perfume.
Fourth: Place the Travalo on the tube, and pump to fill the bottle. It has a handy window so you don't overfill, and you can see exactly how much you want to take.

Overall, this is a genius product. Even if you use it all, you can refill at any time. Plus, it's perfect to keep in your purse. I love it and think it is so handy!

My Travel Hair Products

Hey everyone,

In keeping with the travel posts that have been going up here are my hair products! Enjoy!
Here's a little overview!
Lots of bobbypins for either pinning one piece of hair back, or just to hold a bun into place.
3 normal hair bands for ponytails and buns, little elastics for braids, either to curl my hair or just to wear a braid!
A scrunchie for travel hair-dos or to sleep in.
A clip for when I'm washing my hair or showering and keeping conditioner in for as long as possible.
A small empty container (Caudalie) filled with the Organix Coconut Milk hair oil to tame ends and frizz.
A tiny pot of deep conditioner for a treat after long flights or dehydrated locks!
A wet brush designed to be very gentle on your hair and can be used on wet or dry hair, essentially doubling up as a comb and a brush!
Here it all is bundled together in a Ziplock back awaiting my trip!
